AOVC implements comprehensive health, nutrition, and education programs in Liberia, focusing on child survival, school health, and emergency response. Key projects include the ROCH-funded initiatives, which improve child nutrition through school feeding, deworming, and health education alongside specialized programs for psychosocial support and, historically, Ebola response, strengthening community health systems.

School Health and Nutrition (SHN): This initiative integrates school health with education, establishing health clubs, and providing training to teachers and staff to foster a healthier environment for students.

Psychosocial Support & Play: The “Play On! Liberia” program uses structured, active play to help children, manage trauma, build resilience, and improve their mental and emotional health.

Protection and Health Access: Activities include reuniting children with families and facilitating access to quality healthcare for vulnerable children.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention: The organization works to create safe, healthy learning environments, establishing “Safe School Teams” and addressing gender-related health risks.

These projects primarily target improving the well-being of children in rural areas and those affected by poverty or conflict.
